You know how it goes – you’re trying to cop that sweet piece of land to build your dream home, and suddenly some smooth-talking guy shows up with “legit” papers. But hold up! Those fancy documents might be as fake as that Gucci bag you bought in Traffic.
Imagine spending your hard-earned money on a property, only to find out you’ve been duped harder than when your ex promised to be faithful. The pain is real, fam!
So what’s a smart Lagos hustler to do?
- Don’t fall for the shine-shine papers! They might look fancier than a Nollywood movie poster, but they could be worth less than yesterday’s newspaper.
- Always, and I mean ALWAYS, check with the government people. Yes, I know it’s a headache, but it’s better than crying over spilled palm wine later.
- If you’re confused like NEPA just took your light, talk to a lawyer. They might charge you, but it’s cheaper than buying air.
Remember, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is – just like those “lose weight while eating pounded yam” ads.
Don’t let the scammers win! Stay sharp, stay savvy, and let’s make sure the only property you’re buying is the real deal.
Need help navigating the wild world of Lagos real estate? Hit me up! I’m Dennis Isong, the guy who knows property better than he knows jollof rice (and trust me, I know my jollof ). I’ll help you find a legit property faster than you can say “traffic on Lekki-Epe Expressway”!
Stay safe out there, and remember – the only thing we’re scamming here is those calories with our dance moves!
